As with all artists, I am captivated by ideas, that reveal the importance and uniqueness of all peoples, especially children. They make demands, these ideas.  Some want a poem, some an illustrated story, some a song an essay or a play. with or without puppets.

Drawing children is a joy. I must capture their unique spirit beyond what eyes see. Writing and drawing for children is a mission. My art education was at the hands of the editors and art directors at Little Brown, Random House and Clarion. I love direction. Meanwhile I work on projects assigned and on my own that wait in the wings, and on ideas that perch like friendly birds.

My husband, son and I live in the top of a lovely old Brownstone in Brooklyn. I work a few days a week in the local Christian Science Reading Room, work of the heart.

In case you wondered, Brooklyn, filled with neighbors who care for each other, who watch over children and pets, who love their parks, the shopkeepers and shops, the playgrounds and gardens--, is  paradise.
